Inside Jerry O’Connell’s Shocking Reacher Spinoff Cameo

Reacher‘s spinoff Neagley introduced plenty of twists and turns — but the biggest surprise might have been Jerry O’Connell‘s surprise cameo.

“He was pretty much our first choice for this,” creator Nicholas Wootton exclusively told Us ahead of the show’s Wednesday, September 16, premiere. “I can’t remember anybody else that we even thought of.”

The first season of the new Prime Video show introduced a concerning drug about to hit the market. A fake commercial showed O’Connell serving as the face of the medication, which allowed the actor to lean into his comedic side.

“Just seeing Jerry O’Connell and how he showed up so ready to roll. He was so funny and a sweetheart of a guy as ever existed,” Wootton gushed. “Man, he just nailed it. Like he was so perfect.”
