Patrick Clancy confirmed that he and his new wife, Rachel Danis, are starting a family of their own.
Patrick was quizzed about whether he and Danis are planning to have children in a 60 Minutes interview that aired on Sunday, September 20. Danis said “yes” when asked if they were starting a family.
Patrick then shared what he’d tell his future children about the three children he shared with former wife Lindsay Clancy. Lindsay stands accused of killing the former couple’s kids — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — though recent legal proceedings against her ended in a mistrial.
“I think every parent can agree you have different relationships with your kids, but they’re all your kids. I can’t wait to tell them about their brothers and sister,” Patrick said.

Patrick married Danis, a fertility doctor, in New York City in April, just months before his former wife’s high-profile criminal trial.
In the emotional 60 Minutes interview, Patrick admitted that he thought he wouldn’t survive after his children were killed in January 2023.
“There was a time where I didn’t think I would live to see my 35th birthday, and I was completely fine with it,” he said.
Patrick also opened up about discovering his children had been strangled after returning from running an errand. Cora and Dawson were dead when he returned home. Callan was airlifted to a children’s hospital and died four days later.

“I really thought there was a chance that Callan would live,” he said. “I remember just thinking, ‘Just give me one. Just give me one kid, and I would raise him as best I could, and I would give him the best life I possibly could. I’d tell him about his brother and sister.’ And I was holding out hope for that.”
“I got to hold him. I got to lay down next to him. And he died in my arms,” Patrick shared.
Lindsay’s trial over the deaths of the three children resulted in a mistrial earlier this month. She has not denied killing her children, but her defense lawyers argued that she should not be held criminally responsible due to her struggles with postpartum psychosis.
The prosecution has yet to decide if Lindsay will face another trial.

For his part, Patrick said he forgives his ex-wife.
“I saw headlines that said, you know, ‘Killer Mom,’ and ‘Baby Murderer’ [and] ‘Monster.’ And none of them were accurate,” he said. “I think if people said, ‘She did a horrible thing,’ I think everyone could agree with that. But I believe that it was her mental illness that caused that.”
Patrick said he “did the best I could with what I had at the time. And I live with the outcome. I live with it every day.”
